Leadership
KlezCalYidFest is run by an all-volunteer team. Dmitri Gaskin is festival director, supported by an amazing team: Ben Lerman, Sasha Waniewski, Vanessa Thill, Anthony Russell, Ellie Shapiro, Joanna Letz, and many other dedicated individuals.
KlezCalYidFest is a fiscally sponsored project of KlezCalifornia, meaning that KlezCalifornia acts as a ‘bank account’ for the festival, but does not otherwise have authority over the festival. KlezCalifornia also helps to publicize KlezCalYidFest.
Accessibility
Finnish Hall has a small parking lot with one disabled space, and free street parking. It is located on the 51B bus line. All rooms in the Finnish hall are wheelchair accessible by way of an ADA-compliant long, zigzag wooden ramp located to the right of the building in the parking lot. There is an accessible bathroom located at the back of the hall by the front entrance, which we will label with our own signage and supply with fragrance free soap.
For concerts, audience seating will be arranged with three aisles, two aisles 36 inches wide on the outsides of the room, and a central aisle 72 inches wide through the middle. The first row of seating will be reserved for wheelchair users and their friends. Please feel free to let us know ahead of time if you would like to reserve one of these spots; however more space is easily made available as needed. Seating is provided on straight-backed benches or folding chairs without arms.
Wearing K/N-95 masks is required of the audience at Friday night’s event; we will have some available at the door if needed. On Saturday and Sunday, masking is encouraged but not required. Performers will mask per preference. Friday night’s performers will be tested same day with a PCR.
